Thinking of growing winter oilseed rape this season? Start with Seedtech

If you’re thinking of growing winter oilseed rape this season, Seedtech has two fully Recommended varieties that offer growers a strong combination of yield potential, agronomic performance and disease resistance under Irish conditions.

Both LG Aviron and Aurelia have achieved full Recommended status on the 2027 DAFM Winter Oilseed Rape Recommended List, giving growers proven options backed by a minimum of three years of independent DAFM testing.

Whether your priority is high yield potential and very strong Light Leaf Spot resistance, or a reliable, well-balanced variety with strong standability and early maturity, Seedtech’s OSR portfolio has an option to suit.

LG Aviron – high yield potential with very strong disease resistance

LG Aviron is one of the standout performers on the 2027 list, achieving a relative seed yield of 104, compared with the control varieties at 100.

Two Recommended varieties. Two strong reasons to grow OSR with Seedtech.

The 2027 Recommended List contains five winter oilseed rape varieties in total: four fully Recommended varieties and one Provisionally Recommended variety.

Seedtech is the Irish agent for two of the four fully Recommended varieties – LG Aviron and Aurelia, both bred by Limagrain Verneuil Holding.

That gives growers a choice between two varieties with complementary strengths:

  1. Looking for high yield potential and very strong Light Leaf Spot resistance? Choose LG Aviron.

  2. Looking for a proven, balanced variety with strong standability, early maturity and shedding resistance? Choose Aurelia.

Both varieties have been independently tested by DAFM over a minimum of three years across Irish trial sites, providing growers with confidence in their performance under Irish growing conditions.
